They offer free software in the hope you will subscribe to remove constraints or buy media from them, Windows has come with a media player from the early days and version 12 is still available in Windows 10. Windows 10 also comes with alternate apps Film & TV and Groove Music both linked to the Microsoft Store if you want to buy products. There are two main categories :-

2. Use of streaming technology to build virtual playlists supported by a providers site
